Abstract
The conductance g of a many-channel elastic scatterer is studied in the case where the channels are decoupled. For a simple energy barrier in the absence of disorder, the conductance is independent of the length (no oscillations). In the case of a randomly layered medium, the size dependence of the conductance exhibits a power-law pre-factor in addition to an exponential decay. Keywords
