Abstract
From the low frequency measurements of the dielectric constant of ultra low impurity liquid argon, we obtain the density of the liquid in the vicinity of the critical point. Along the 50 atm isobar slightly above the critical temperature, we find apparent discontinuity in the density, suggesting proximity to a prewetting transition. A simple mean field theoretical analysis provides a qualitative description of some aspects of this behaviorKeywords
