Abstract
Doping of metals and semiconductors can change both their electrical conductivity and catalytic activity. The change in conductivity gives information about the number of occupied and vacant electron levels. If the rate‐determining step of a catalytic reaction involving a doped solid can be identified, then a relationship between the conductivity and chemical behavior of the solid may be established. Keywords
