Abstract
Plasma luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and estradiol were measured at 20-minute intervals for 24-hours in seven pubertal premenarchal girls whose sleep was monitored polygraphically. A circadian variation in plasma estradiol was demonstrated with the highest values occurring during the day (1400-1600 hours) and lowest values during sleep, a time when gonadotropin secretion was augmented. Keywords
