Abstract
Following preliminary treatment in an iodine-sodium thiosulphate sequence impregnate sections at 60[degree] C for one hour in a solution containing 0.002% silver nitrate and 0.1% pyridine buffered to a pH of 8.0. Develop in a solution containing 1% Hydroquinone and 10% Sodium sulphite crystals. Return to impregnating solution for 1/2 to 1 hour. Repeat development. Treat with 5% Sodium thiosulphate for 2 minutes, wash in running water for 5 minutes, dehydrate and mount. Argyrophile granules are stained black against a light brown background. Preparations are ready for examination in under 2 hours. Keywords
