Abstract
About 200 pieces of porcelains were analyzed with the use of the x-ray fluorescence technique with a Cd-109 source as exciter. It was found that fluorescence spectra of the glaze of porcelains made in Ching-te Chen during the Ch'ing dynasty and those made during the Republic period varied little. However, these spectra are quite different from those of the glaze of porcelains made elsewhere. Moreover, among porcelains made after World War II, those from Ching-te Chen and elsewhere often contain zinc and arsenic.Keywords
