Apparent Parthenogenesis in Nature, in a Form of Fish of Hybrid Origin

Abstract
Mollienisia formosa is a natural hybrid haying nearly all the features of a species. Over much of its range it occurs only as [female][female]. These presumably mate in nature with [male][male] of the parent species. Such laboratory matings have produced only [female] offspring which are strictly matroclinous. The most plausible explanation is gynogenesis, regarded as a kind of parthenogenesis.
