Lack of an effect of oral l-histidine on the serum cholesterol in human subjects

Abstract
A study was made of the effect on the serum cholesterol concentration of the longterm oral administration of l-histidine to patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Although a statistically significant increase (0.31 mg/100 ml) in the serum histidine concentration occurred, no change in the serum cholesterol concentration was noted.
