Abstract
It is shown that the component of the deuteron internal wave function gives rise to corrections to the direct reaction theory of () and () reactions which depend strongly on the angular momentum of the transferred neutrons. For an orbital angular momentum transfer of 3 the corrections are large and give an important contribution to the dependence observed in the reactions and .
