Abstract
Pre-eclamptic toxaemia is a common complication of late pregnancy. However, the occurrence of clinically unsuspected laryngeal oedema has not, to the authors' knowledge, been described previously. Experience of such a case leads them to recommend that a selection of tracheal tubes ranging from 8 to 4-5 mm, be available when anaesthesia is undertaken in patients who have oedema associated with pre-eclamptic toxaemia. Keywords
