Abstract
Photography is commonly used to monitor patients with suspect melanocytic naevi, the photographs being compared visually. A method is described of using digital image processing to extract several numeric indices from each lesion. The problems involved are then discussed and their intended use as statistical data in the prognostic estimation of malignancy is described. Keywords
