Abstract
The diffuse scattering of long wavelength neutrons (7.0 Å) by niobium–deuterium solid solutions of composition NbD0.042 and NbD0.079 has been studied. The results indicate that within experimental error the hydrogen atoms are randomly distributed. An incoherent cross section of 2.78 × 10−2 ± 0.25 × 10−2 b is reported for niobium. Keywords
