Abstract
Two new species, C. montesii and C. delascioi, are described from Guarico, Venezuela. Both species have multiple, sessile, headlike inflorescences. Calyptrocarya delascioi is the first species in the genus with elongated rhizomes. Calyptrocarya montesii is the second species in the genus with three stigmas. A detailed discussion of inflorescence morphology is presented, demonstrating that compound male and female spikelets are borne in separate inflorescence units in all species of the genus. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
