The Vascularization of the Heart Valves: A Comparative Study

Abstract
The heart valves of humans, foetuses, dogs, pigs, calves, and cows were injected with special Indian ink using a technique which ensured adequate filling of the vessels. The results showed that foetuses and young animals possess a far richer vascular network than the adult animal, in whom no or few vessels were present.
