Abstract
The aqueous extraction of nitrogenous materials from the leaves of various plant species was investigated by a procedure previously worked out. (Biochem. Jour. 40: 197. 1946). The extraction varied from 41. 5-93. 5% of the total leaf N, the avg. for all species being 75%. The extraction was mainly influenced by the N content of the leaves, increasing with increasing N content. The extraction was also influenced by the dry-matter content, as the wetter leaves have a higher N content. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
