Abstract
Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methyl alcohol, formic acid, carbonyl sulfide and carbon disulfide are reduced to methane by ionic hydrogenation using sodium borohydride and superacidic trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. Experimental details are given and the mechanism is discussed. Keywords
