Abstract
Simple considerations and elementary physics are used to address four questions raised in connection with current developments in analytical atomic spectrometry. How can we increase the speed of ETA-AAS? What are the limitations to sample introduction in ICP-AES, also with respect to solid samples? What are the merits of high-resolution ICP-AES? How can non-metals be determined directly?Keywords
