Abstract
Bioprotection of pea roots against Aphanomyces euteiches by the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus G. mosseae was demonstrated to depend on a fully established symbiosis. This was related with induction of mycorrrhiza-related chitinolytic enzymes. Possible mechanisms implicated in bioprotection are discussed.Keywords
