Abstract
Birds (91) of 23 spp. from Chile were examined for Haematozoa; 13 birds of 7 spp. [Columbina cruziana, Zenaida asiatica, Conirostrum cinereum, Phrygilus fruticeti, Zonotrichia capensis, Passer domesticus and Elaenia albiceps] harbored species of Haemoproteus, Leucocytozoon, Plasmodium, Trypanosoma and microfilariae. Haemoproteids (representing 4 spp.): H. columbae, H. sacharovi, H. orizivora and H. fringillae) were the most common parasites and occurred in 10 of the 13 infected birds. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
