Abstract
The method of Glick and Fischer (Science 102: 429-430, 1945) for the histochemical localization of adenosinetriphosphatase (AT Pase) was useful though it had limitations. It detected ATPase separate from any other phosphatase that could act on ATP when they had different cellular distributions, or when only, or predominately, the ATPase was present. Loss of enzyme through lability did not impair the validity of the test, since it could be compensated by using longer digestion periods. Keywords
