Abstract
Many occupational therapists appear to be struggling to provide a holistic treatment programme for people with multiple handicaps. A number of the accepted methods of therapy or intervention techniques for mental handicap facilitate the individual to learn by handling and manipulating and are thus not so readily accessible to those with multiple handicaps because of their physical disabilities. This article is intended to show how vibration can be incorporated into therapy programmes for people with mental, multiple and sensory handicaps to obtain an optimum level of function and therefore enhance their quality of life. Keywords
