Abstract
Although residents in academic medical centers are expected to assume teaching responsibilities, very few have been trained on how to teach during medical school. Most learn to teach by emulating faculty role models, who commonly use an authoritative, information-giving style. This report describes three educational approaches which help prepare students to be more effective teachers by promoting problem-solving in learners. This project represents the first multi-educational institutional commitment which focuses on teaching medical students how to teach. Keywords
