Einfluß des Carotins (Vitamins A) auf den Puringehalt wachsender normaler und pathologischer Gewebe.

Abstract
To secure evidence for the growth influence of vitamin A in an increase in nuclear formation and stimulation of cell division, purine N, and total N were determined in several tissues from rats fed a vitamin A-free diet, with and without supplements of carotene. Tissues from rats on the vitamin A-free diets contained about 15% less purine than in corresponding organs of rats fed carotene or a normal diet. There was also slower growth and lower purine N in Jensen rat sarcoma implants on a vitamin A-free diet. Embryonic tissue is high in purine content.
