Abstract
Cytomixis was observed during an examination of microsporogenesis in a hybrid plant derived from a cross between L. japonicus (Regel) Larsen and L. alpinus Schleich. in which there were chromatin bridges connecting more than 17% of the pollen mother cells. This phenomenon may be attributed to nonsynchronous premeiotic somatic divisions in which karyokinesis and cytokinesis were out of phase resulting in incomplete cell wall formation and the subsequent production of chromatin bridges between the pollen mother cells.This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
