Abstract
PELVIC exenteration, the radical removal of the uterus, cervix and vagina or the bladder and rectum (or all these organs) although a very extensive and mutilating procedure, is occasionally the only means of curing a patient with pelvic carcinoma.After fifteen years of experience with pelvic exenteration we thought it was time to assess the indications for this operation and the results achieved.
