Abstract
Interatomic potentials for He‐rare gas pairs have been obtained by fitting a multiparameter potential to low energy differential cross sections and second virial coefficients. There appears to be no single reduced potential which is valid for all He‐rare gas systems; all asymmetric He‐rare gas potentials have wider attractive wells than that of He2. rm and ε for , and are 3.21 Å, 14.3°K; 3.54 Å, 24.2°K; 3.75 Å, 24.7°K; and 4.15 Å, 25.2°K, respectively. Commonly used combining rules do not provide good estimates for well depths of these systems.
