Abstract
The exchange of a virtual nuclear collective mode is shown to have an important effect on the isobar-nucleon-hole interaction. A numerical estimate for the Landau parameter in the isobar-nucleon sector is given by solving the fully coupled Babu-Brown equation in a simple model. Keywords
