Early Dialysis in Diabetic Patients with Chronic Renal Failure

Abstract
Late therapy is proposed as the major factor in the high mortality rate of diabetic patients undergoing hemodialysis. Increased mortality is attributed to myocardial infarction, infection, cerebrovascular accident, uremia, hypertension, atherosclerosis, bleeding tendencies, pleural effusion and fluid overload. Early dialysis is proposed to improve or prevent diabetic sequelae including retinopathy, peripheral neuropathy and vascular disease.
