Abstract
We report measurements of the asymmetry in deep inelastic scattering of longitudinally polarized electrons by longitudinally polarized protons. The antiparallel-parallel asymmetries are positive and large in agreement with predictions of quark-parton models of the proton. A limit is obtained on parity nonconservation in the scattering of longitudinally polarized electrons by unpolarized nucleons. Keywords
