Non-Spinal Pyogenic Psoas Abscess

Abstract
1. Attention is drawn to primary isolated abscess in the psoas sheath as a definite clinical entity. 2. Details of twenty-four cases are reported. 3. The organism in the majority of patients was coagulase positive Staphylococcus pyogenes. 4. In all but one patient there was a prompt response to incision and drainage of the pus supplemented by appropriate antibiotic therapy.
