First measurement of $\frac{Γ (D_{s}^{+} \to μ^{+} ν)}{Γ (D_{s}^{+} \to φ π^{+}})$

Abstract

We present a measurement of

\frac{Γ (D_{s}^{+} \to μ^{+} ν)}{Γ (D_{s}^{+} \to φ π^{+}}) = 0.245 \pm 0.052 \pm 0.074

. Using this ratio and

B (D_{s}^{+} \to φ π^{+}) = (3.7 \pm 0.9) %

we extract

f_{D_{s}} = 344 \pm 37 \pm 52 \pm 42

MeV, where the last error is due to the uncertainty in the

D_{s}^{+} \to φ π^{+}

absolute branching ratio. This result is larger than most theoretical predictions.
