Abstract
This infectious disease is characterized by acute inflammation of the vaginal mucosa, terminating in formation of raised red nodules studding the mucosa. By a special staining technique a somewhat pleomorphic Gram-negative bacillus with tiny polar granules was found in the exudate. Pure cultures were obtained by inoculating vaginal exudate into tubes of slanted agar containing defibrinated horse blood. Growth took place only in sealed tubes. This organism was proved by inoculation to be the cause of the disease. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
