Abstract
Preview The use of anabolic steroids by athletes has risen precipitously despite the risk of numerous side effects and the lack of conclusive evidence that these substances improve athletic performance. Dr Bierly summarizes current knowledge on the use of these steroids and alerts the primary care physician to the morbid effects they may produce. Keywords
