Bibliography on Composite System Reliability (1964-1988)

Abstract
This paper presents a comprehensive bibliography on the subject of composite system reliability and closely related topics. It is believed to fill a gap which exists in the literature since approximately 2/3 of the items registered here have not appeared in previously published bibliographies on power system reliability. This bibliography was organized to be as complete as possible, rendering a useful aid to power system reliability researchers. Only sources of public domain were scrutinized such as periodicals, books, proceedings of technical conferences and reports available to the public. Doctoral and Masters theses were deliberately omitted since the task of searching for a representative list was beyond the available resources. An international set of publications was covered for a time span of approximately 20 years, without exclusion criteria based on language or geographical origin. Therefore, it should be regarded as a complement to the bibliographies previously published by the IEEE Application of Probability Methods Subcommittee (APM). Nevertheless, the aspects that differentiates this bibliography from those may be explicitly mentioned. First, it aims to be comprehensive (not selective). Second, it is focused on composite system reliability and related aspects. Third, it presents a significant list of books ("in totum" or chapters), reports and papers that have not been previously registered. With such a broad and ambitious scope it is natural that the number of omissions could be quite significant. It is hoped that additional references will be submitted for inclusion in the final published version.
