Abstract
Filaments of typical actin morphology can be isolated from acetone powder of lens fiber cells. These filaments, which react with heavy meromyosin, are also present in native form in the water-insoluble fraction of the lens. These findings indicate that native actin filaments exist in the lens fiber cells distinct from the beaded filaments. Keywords
