Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 53-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of fever.She was well until six months previously, when she had a respiratory-tract infection that gradually cleared but left her feeling vaguely unwell. Two months before admission pain developed in the left side of the neck and left shoulder, with radiation to the left arm. Injections into the shoulder joint and a cervical collar gave no relief.One month before entry she came to the Orthopedic Service of this hospital, where examination disclosed that she was afebrile.
