Abstract
American Express, a leader in its use of information technology (IT), engaged the IBM Consulting Group to benchmark its IT management processes against 17 other major companies. The study focused on how a company's management processes used IT to achieve its business goals. It sought to identify the best practices for developing strategic plans that both aligned IT with the business and dealt effectively with change. Keywords
