Abstract
A comparative analytical study on dried digester sludge samples involving 9 laboratories, most of whom used atomic absorption, revealed large discrepancies in nickel results. These discrepancies were shown to be mainly due to a non-specific absorbance. This paper suggests a method for correcting this absorbance using a line in the cobalt or chromium spectrum. Keywords
