Abstract
Thin aluminum targets have been bombarded with 1.8-, 2.0-, and 2.1-Mev deuterons. Protons emerging at 90 degrees with respect to the deuteron beam have been analyzed in a magnetic spectrograph. Fifty proton groups have been assigned to the reaction, corresponding to the ground state and forty-nine excited states in between 0 and 6.35 Mev. Most of the levels form clusters, and spacings as low as 13 kev have been observed.
