Abstract
A method for calculating the operating parameters of wound rotor induction machines with stator and/or rotor winding deterioration is developed. The procedure is then applied to a specific machine in order to demonstrate the viability of the method. The approach is general in that an arbitrary number of winding deterioration processes may be simulated on the stator and/or the rotor. Forms of deterioration might include high or low impedance leakage between phases, between coils in a single phase, or between a phase and ground. One application of this analysis is in the generation of data bases required to design and develop performance monitoring, deterioration detection, or deterioration classification systems for critical motor installations. Keywords
