IMMUNOCHEMICAL STUDIES ON INSULIN CONCERNING NEUTRALIZING ANTIBODIES

Abstract
The simultaneous injection of killed human-type tubercle bacilli (Aoyama B strain) and insulin as an emulsion to guinea pig produced 4 weeks later an antibody in blood serum, capable of suppressing the insulin convulsion effect in mice. This insulin-neutralizing factor was the protein which was precipitated by ammonium sulfate at half saturation and was non-dialyzable.
