Abstract
Es wird über ein Verfahren zur Quantifizierung des Liquorkompar-timentes im kranialen Computertomogramm berichtet. Die Methode gründet sich auf die Analyse der Histogrammkurve, wobei der Flächenanteil des Dichteintervalls für Liquor in Relation zur Gesamtfläche unter der Kurve gesetzt wird. Zur „Isolierung” des Schädelinnenraumes wird die CT-Maskentechnik benutzt. Die Praktikabilität und Nutzanwendung im klinischen Bereich wird an einem „Normalkollektiv” von 59 Patienten und an 11 Verlaufsbeobachtungen rasch progredienter hirnatrophischer Prozesse dargelegt. A method for quantifying the CSF compartments iq cranial computer tomograms is described. The method is based on an analysis fo the histogram curve, the proportion of area and thickness of the liquor spaces being related to the total area below the curve. In order to isolate the skull contents, a CT masking technique is used. The practicability and usefulness of the method in clinical practice was tested in 59 normal patients and in eleven patients with rapidly progressing brain atrophy.
