Abstract
Departures from the single particle model (SPM) are considered, in which the SPM wave function is mixed with others representing states for which the core no longer has zero angular momentum. It is found that under certain restrictions an experimentally established relation exists between the deviations of odd- nuclei from the Schmidt lines and those of odd- nuclei.
