Tics and Tourette Syndrome

Abstract
The frequency of accompanying neurologic signs and positive family histories lends support to the idea of an organic cause for these common neuropsychiatric disorders. Spontaneous remission is common, and tics seldom persist beyond adolescence, but drug therapy may be indicated in severe cases. Emotional problems in patients and their families may represent the most difficult aspect of management.
