Abstract
A practical procedure for determining trace-element levels in shrimp by using dry oxidation procedures coupled to atomic-absorption spectroscopy was investigated. Various parameters involved in dry oxidation were studied such as temperature, optimum sample weights and combustion time. The precision of the method was also determined. The analytical procedures used proved to be quite satisfactory and were found to be simple and rapid with few complications.
