Abstract
The present paper gives a detailed analysis of the intensity of satellites to the Lyman α lines of Mg XII to S XVI, observed in X-ray spectra of a dense laser plasma, where $$T_\text e\simeq10^6-10^7\enspace\text K$$ and $$N_\text e\simeq10^{20}-10^{21}\enspace\text {cm}^{-3}$$. The interpretation of the intensities of the lines, which are caused by transitions of the type $$1snl^\prime-2lnl^\prime$$, was made on the basis of relativistic calculations of radiative transition probabilities and autoionization rates. Rather good agreement between theoretical and experimental data is obtained.
