Abstract
The effect of different periods of quackgrass (Agropyron repens L. Beauv.) competition after crop emergence was studied for potato (Solanum tuberosum L. ’Russet Burbank’). Delaying quackgrass removal for 2 wk after crop emergence reduced small-sized tuber yield, marketable tuber yield and total yield by 6%, 27% and 21%, respectively, averaged over 4 yr. Successively longer delays in quackgrass removal showed progressively greater reductions in yield.Key words: Quackgrass, potato, competitionThis publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
