Abstract
The heavy-quark potential at finite temperature is calculated from a string picture, where the string is regulated on the lattice. While the potential agrees exactly with those found previously in special cases such as the zero-temperature limit, the oscillational modes do add several interesting new terms at finite temperature. Keywords
