Abstract
A procedure is described to determine ATP directly (i.e. without separated extraction) in sludge samples. For a series of laboratory units, linear relationships were observed between their ATP‐contents and their respective cell residence times, loading rates, substrate removal and oxygen uptake rates. The potential use of ATP as a control parameter for activated sludge is discussed. Keywords
