Abstract
Since research has established the important and positive relationship between informal student‐faculty interactions and student retention, this study investigated the relationship between immediacy, trust, and student motivation and student‐faculty out‐of‐class communication (OCC). Results indicate that verbal immediacy and student motivation are related to OCC.Keywords
